Zazu is a fintech start-up that provides mobile payment services and financial education courses to the Zambian market.

Our vision is to create the most helpful digital money account, ever. An account that makes it easy to understand where and how your money is going, that automatically categorizes spending and gives you the data you need to make informed decisions.

Along the way, we are partnering with government departments and NGOs to bring financial education to urban and rural communities in Zambia by way of financial literacy courses that can be taken on even the most basic mobile phone.

About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on, enthusiastic and result-driven Head of Marketing to lead the department activities – from strategy ideation, to the coordination of the different parties (digital, creatives, media buying, etc.) and the rigorous analysis of set KPIs.

Specifically, you will:

  • Develop marketing strategies across different channels to increase brand and product awareness to drive conversion and sign-ups according to agreed key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Be responsible for the achievement of those KPIs based on your strategy;
  • Ensure campaigns are implemented and progress is measured, monitored and reported regularly to the management team;
  • Liaise and coordinate with different teams/agencies in the execution of these campaigns;
  • Lead the organisation of events and meet-ups to build brand awareness and preference;
  • Ensure our brand is consistent across channels;
  • Conduct general market research to understand our key audiences better and to highlight trends in the financial services sector;
  • Build strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders, agencies and vendors.

Essential:

  • BA in Marketing or a related field (or other degree, but relevant work experience)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in marketing (and relevant supporting evidence)
  • Good understanding of digital marketing channels and possibilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting
  • Proven experience in understanding and targeting key audiences through campaigns
  • Experience with digital, ATL and BTL marketing activities
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Result-driven individual

Desired:

  • Previous experience in marketing fintech and/or financial products is a plus;
  • Member of the Zambian Institute of Marketing, a plus.
