Zanaco PLC is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Products & Channels Department at Head Office: –

 

INSURANCE PRODUCTS SENIOR SPECIALIST (X1)

 

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for Bancassurance product development and lifecycle management. Providing on-going support in Bancassurance products roll outs as per requirements of the relevant projects in parallel with the overall business strategy.

 

Under the supervision of the Head Products & Channels, the following are among the Job’s Key Responsibilities: –

  • Lead the development and implementation of new product initiatives and product enhancement for Bancassurance products.
  • Oversee and manage launch schedule of new products and propositions.
  • Collaborate with Bank partners and internal parties in product planning, design and product development process to ensure product initiatives and related supports are delivered effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage both internal and external stakeholders to ensure technology infrastructure and operational processes are able to support timely and successful launch of products according to agreed plans.
  • Support current products through product performance reviews and sales campaign support along with business partners.
  • Participate in the formulation of product strategies and prioritization of product initiatives particularly for Bancassurance products.
  • Lead, motivate and develop team members and collaborate with other teams on joint initiatives.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by management.

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACT

  • External: Service Providers e.g. Insurance Providers, vendors e.g. software & hardware suppliers
  • Internal: All Divisions

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 Credit or above, mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
  • Degree in Business or a relevant field or professional qualification from a recognized university.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in insurance or banking industry with at least 2 years at supervisory level
  • Experience in Life Assurance product development, particularly in bancassurance is beneficial.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance product trends and competitive activities and be able to react and identify opportunities in response to the changing landscape
  • Good understanding of insurance products market
  • Familiarity with international best practices and global trends in the sector
  • Technical knowledge in business finance tools, products and methodologies (sales management, CRM, issuing & acquiring, credit scoring, collections, product development, etc.)
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues typical for country banking system
