EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – DIRECTOR COMMERCIAL
Zambia Railways Limited (ZRL) is a national Railway of Zambia. The Company specialises in transporting heavy cargo in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), as well as running a local passenger train service. The area of product specialization is freight-bulk cargo and passenger rail services to the satisfaction of all Stakeholders. The Company therefore seeks the services of committed, vibrant, innovative, and strategically focused and business oriented Zambian citizen to fill the below mention position.
POSITION: DIRECTOR COMMERCIAL
1.0 PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To develop and implement strategic commercial and sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for Zambia Railways Limiteds current services and identified revenue growth areas.
2.0 GRADE AND REPORTING LINE
This is a Senior Management position in Salary Grade RM 2 in the structure of the Company reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
3.0 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
a) Continue grow the market share for ZRL in line Statutory Instrument (SI) Number 7 of 2018 and beyond
b) Determine Commercial Services strategy and operational plan and accountable for Department’s business performance
c) To plan and implement Sales, Marketing and Business Development programs
d) Direct and monitor the execution of the Commercial Services Department’s operations and processes
e) Manage and monitor Commercial Services Department’s financial planning, forecasting, expenditure and reporting processes
f) Manage and monitor the Department’s governance, reporting, and stakeholder management processes
g) Direct and monitor employee engagement, people and performance management processes
h) Direct and monitor the planning and execution of strategic initiatives/projects and operational excellence programmes
i) To oversee the passenger services segment with a focus on growing revenue from existing services and new areas
j) Identifies the training needs of staff in the department and facilitates appropriate capacity building
4.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
a) Full Grade 12 with five (5) “O” Levels with credit or better in Mathematics and English Language
b) Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics, Marketing, Corporate Investment or equivalent
c) Master’s Degree ina business or related field
d) At least (5) years of senior management position experience in a similar environment
e) Membership with relevant professional body
