ZCCP has developed Kwatu as a well known health and development communication brand, which has been used to carry all of ZCCP’s products.
Job Title – Grants Manager-Finance
Reporting lines: Senior Finance and Administration Manager
ZCCP is seeking a detail-oriented, thorough, and organized Grants Manager to oversee the sub-granting management of the organization. In this position, you will play a key role in the management of sub-grantees, review of liquidations from sub-grantees, regional offices, and programme advances. As Grants Manager, you will also support the financial management of the organization in financial reporting and compliance.
Main purpose of job:
1. The Grants Manager will support the Senior Finance & Administration Manager to comply with various donor agreements and grants.
2. The Grants Manager will also ensure complete compliance to donor rules and regulations at the sub-recipient level.
3. The Grants Manager will monitor all budgets and disbursements to sub-grantees and review reports.
Key performance areas:
Grant Management
1. Participate in sub-grantee pre-award assessments.
2. Participate in periodical sub-grantee capacity assessments.
3. Provide capacity building and Technical Assistance based on identified needs.
4. Facilitate timely disbursements of sub-grants.
5. Review reports on a timely basis.
6. Track the utilization of funds from sub-grantees.
7. Review variance reports and make recommendations to program staff.
8. Participate in Partner review meetings.
9. Review grant related payments against approved budgets.
10. Participate in annual work plans & budget formulations.
Financial Management
1. Review Pastel journal holds for correct dates, description, references before SFAM can approve and post the journals.
2. Prepare accurate donor Financial Reports.
3. Prepare variance reports and narratives.
4. Prepare draft management reports
5. Work closely with Programmes department on a monthly basis to plan and develop expenditure forecasts.
6. Supervise the reconciliation of balance sheet items by Finance Officers.
7. Provide supervision to Finance Officers on a daily basis.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
1. ACCA, CIMA, ZICA/CA or a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy plus a higher Diploma in Grant/Project Management.
2. Member of ZICA (Associate or Fellow).
3. Qualification or proven experience in Grants/Project Management.
4. Proven leadership skills.
5. Two (2) years previous experience as Grants Manager or related position.
6. Firm knowledge of USAID rules and regulations.
7. Valid and clean driver’s license.
8. Solid knowledge and understanding of Grants, Financial Management, internal controls and systems.
9. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
10. Hands on Knowledge of PASTEL will be added advantage.
11. Ability to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions.
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
13. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
14. Accurate and precise attention to detail.
15. Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
16. Goal-oriented, organized team player.
