Description

The Zambia Centre for Communication Programmes (ZCCP) is looking for qualified finance officers to work in the Finance & Administration office of its Head Office based in Lusaka.

JOB PURPOSE:

To support the Finance office of The Zambia Centre for Communication Programmes in securing smooth and professional operations of a busy centralised Accounts Office at its Head Office in Lusaka. The Finance and administration office supports programmes across districts of Zambia where ZCCP programmes are implemented. This is a temporal position and will be phased out once the recruitment of contractual Finance Officers is completed within two months.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage Accounting Documentation: Source and supporting documentation including systematic record keeping.

  • Processing of Payments:

  • Processing of all forms of Journal Vouchers.

  • Update the PASTEL accounting system and produce draft reports

  • Managing imprest, staff, business and travel advances.

  • Verify retirements from advances.

  • Management of vendor contracts.

  • Maintain Asset register.

  • Conduct physical count of all assets and inventory.

  • Maintain updated grant files.

  • Support the payroll management.

  • Support tracking of donor funds.

  • Perform banking duties.

  • Ensure timely disbursements of funds to service providers, sub-grantees, regional offices, etc.

  • Reconciles control accounts: Prepayments, Payables, including managing fuel vendor accounts.

  • Perform procurement procedures to secure competitive bidding when sourcing goods and services.

  • Ensure timely submission of statutory returns [PAYE, NAPSA, Others-Personal Levy, etc.]

  • Submit timely reports.

  • Participate in schedules meetings, workshops and field visits.

  • Perform other essential finance and administration duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience required

    • Degree in Accountancy, ACCA II, CIMA II, ZICA/CA II or equivalent.
    • Affiliate of ZICA, technician or licentiate and minimum of 2 years work experience.
    • Experience in use of Accounting packages such as Pastel and Dove payroll.
    • Experience in USAID funded projects will be added advantage.
