I. POSITION INFORMATION
POSITION TITLE: SUPERVISOR QUALITY & SAFETY ASSURANCE (QMS & SMS)
JOB GRADE: ZA3
REPORTS TO (TITLE): MANAGER INTERNAL AUDIT & COMPLIANCE, QMS & SMS
LOCATION: LUSAKA HQ

II. JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager Internal Audit & Compliance, The Supervisor Quality and Safety Assurance will be responsible for Administering the company quality and Safety Management programs.
III. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the Company’s quality, safety and environment policy and ensure that its implementation is in sync with applicable regulatory & procedural requirements.
- Administers the company quality and Safety Management programs.
- Reviews and recommends the application and effectiveness of risk management function at all levels of operations and activities.
- Provides services to the Company through the conduct of continuous, broad and independent surveillance of quality assurance activities throughout the organization.
- Reviews system-wide quality & Safety critical operational areas including outsourced functions to provide management the assurance that quality imperatives required by the system and regulatory bodies are met
- Ensure that the IMS (on quality, safety, security, environment, emergency response and occupational health) is holistic, clear, simple, cost-effective and efficient.
- Initiates, develops and updates the quality and safety management manual.
- Implements quality/safety training programs for staffs to ensure maintenance of a positive safety culture and safe practices.
- Distribute quality/safety related articles and accident recaps to company personnel.
- Communicates & share the airline industry quality/safety philosophy to all concerned personnel.
- Conduct “QMS and SMS Induction” for new employees (only).
- Review all hazards; receive all quality/safety forms – feedback or reports evaluate with management. Make recommendations to correct/prevent identified quality and safety issues and monitor implementations.
- Monitors compliance by all employees the applicable regulatory quality and safety standards.
- Makes recommendations to correct/prevent identified quality/safety issues to mitigate the risk as part of loss control standards.
- Compile and prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually reports on quality and safety
- Perform all other related duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor
IV. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in any of the QHSE disciplines or relevant field of studies
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in airlines Quality/ Safety/Occupational Health or related areas with at least 2 years’ management experience as Supervisor or equivalent level.
