II. JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor Sales & Marketing, The Sales Representative is responsible to undertake sales works in the solicitation of passenger/Cargo business for the airline; Assists Area Manager/Traffic & Sales Manager in sales related matters; Makes sales calls on prospects to solicit business and to attain sales objectives

III. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Achieve and build sales for Zambia Airways products and services through prescribed sales channels.
• Achievement of set revenue targets within prescribed time limits
• Identification of key market opportunities and ensure these are converted into sales
• Evaluation and reporting of changes in market activity to ensure Zambia Airways maintains market awareness and competitive advantage.
• Conduct planned sales calls on potential customers to solicit business and achieve sales objectives.
• Analyze and evaluate travel needs and revenue potential within the market
• Preparation of sales reports for management information, performance, evaluation and monitoring.
• Collects and compiles market information periodically to analyze ZAMBIA AIRWAYS competitiveness and the performance of travel agencies.
• Closely works with travel Agencies and Tour operators to ensure that ZAMBIA AIRWAYS products and services are well promoted.
• Ensure that all potential sources of revenue are provided with the necessary information about ZAMBIA Airways products and services.
• Recommends areas where advertising and promotional support is required to achieve sales objectives.
• Plans and prepares territorial call patterns for solicitation of business.
• Recommends special market fares when appropriate.
• Participates in important trade fares and exhibitions to promote Zambia Airways products and services.
• Adheres consistently to the airline safety and security policy and procedures through identification and mitigation of operational hazards and related safety & security risks and implements all precautionary actions / measures / processes; conduct work activity safety planning before work begins, during the actual work as conditions change, debriefing and hand over activities at the end of the work and shifting to other work when emergent work is encountered; make safety a priority and participate in safety briefings and meetings and take part in implementing safety initiatives, regularly perform safety inspections of work activities, facilities, equipment and vehicles and immediately quit and report to supervisors/co-workers/concerned safety office if unanticipated hazardous or unsafe conditions are encountered.
• As Zambia Airways Brand Ambassador, is e responsible for promoting and adhering to the Brand Guidelines
• Perform all other related duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Management.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of grade 12 GCE O level certificate
• IATA /UFTAA Diploma
• Diploma in Marketing /sales
• Minimum of 5 years industry work experience
• Member of Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM)
• Fluency in English
• Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft word and PowerPoint
