Provincial Coordinator at Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities

The Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities is a Government Agency, established under Act No. 6 of 2012. The agency is mandated with the responsibility of coordinating and providing services to persons with disabilities.

The Agency is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the  position:

Main Accountabilities/Duties

• To register persons with disabilities in the province
• Forward to headquarters Association’s applications offering services to persons with disabilities to be registered by the Agency
• To plan, promote and administer services to persons with disabilities in the province
• To ensure owners of buildings in the province comply with disabilities Act on accessibility by persons with disabilities
• Prepare Monthly, Quarterly, Bi-annual and Annual reports
• To facilitate placement of persons with disabilities in employment
• To coordinate with Government Institutions on mainstreaming issues of persons with disabilities.
• Supervision of staff at the Province
• Market the products of the Agency
• To ensure Agency Assets at Province, District and Farm centers are protected at all times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in social work, special education or any other related Social science.
• Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ level which should include Mathematics and English
• Minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience in the same field.

Other Attributes

• Ability to work in stressful environment
• Knowledge of UNCRPD and Disability Act No.6 of 2012
• Skills in project proposal writing will be an added advantage
• Sound interpersonal and building skills
