Position: Project Officer (1) – Prevent Sexual Gender Based Violence (S&GBV)
Location: Project Management Unit – Kasama
Reporting to: Project Manager
Purpose of Position
The Project Officer (PO) will organize and coordinate the planning and implementation of all prevention interventions under World Vision Zambia. The Project Officer will also provide technical support to Co-Applicants and FSTP partners on the implementation of technical strategies and the Every Hour Matters and Ending Child Marriage campaigns. Ensure proper coordination, partner engagement and monitoring of interventions in accordance with Project Management Plans.
Major Responsibilities
Planning, implementation and Reporting
- Organize and coordinate the planning of all provincial/district level trainings
- Support the planning and implementation of trainings on Channels of Hope (CoH), Communication for Development (C4D), Traditional counselors etc. for both Co-Applicants and partners under Financial Services for Third Parties (FSTP).
- Coordinate trainings on Channels of Hope (CoH), Communication for Development (C4D) and traditional Counselors training for both Co-Applicants and partners under (FSTP).
- Oversee the implementation of all training activities the Detailed Implementation Plan, review of all One Stop Centre (OSC) level Monitoring & Evaluation plans in accordance with the Project Management Plan
- Support formation of strong Gender Based Violence survivor networks for youth, men and women and document best practices on economic strengthening activities as well as the impact on using men as agents of change in stamping out Gender Based Violence (GBV).
- Consolidate and submit monthly, quarterly and annual district reports
Every Hour matters (EHM) and Ending Child Marriage (ECM) campaigns
- Develop strategies of the EHM and ECM campaigns
- Lead in the planning and implementation of the EHM and ECM campaigns
Coordination and Monitoring
- Conduct monitoring and supervisory visits Co-Applicants and partners under FSTP implementing interventions on Channels of Hope, C4D, engagement of traditional counsellors, EHM campaign and ECM campaign
- Participate in district and community level Technical Working Groups meetings
- In liaison with the M&E Manager conduct quarterly Data Quality Assurance for Channels of Hope (CoH), Communication for Development (C4D), engagement of traditional counsellors, EHM campaign and ECM campaign
- Document and disseminate the best practices and lessons learnt from project interventions in liaison with Monitoring and evaluation department.
Other Responsibilities
- Show spiritual maturity, integrity and energetic personal sense calling, through attendance of daily devotions and other spiritual nurture programmes.
- Carry out other activities as maybe assigned by supervisor
Qualifications, Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
- Degree/Advanced Diploma in Development Studies or in any related field.
- More than 3 years’ experience in NGO development programming and programme management
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Computer and report writing skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills Knowledge in Gender Based Violence
Other Competencies/Attributes:
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently as required
- Demonstrated ability to apply advocacy and negotiation skills within district and community setting
- Program management skills to deliver programs with partners and/or through direct assistance
- Must be a mature Christian
Working Environment
- Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
