The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board (WCFCB) is a social security scheme responsible for compensating workers in respect of accidents suffered and diseases contracted during the course of employment in accordance with the provisions of the Workers’ Compensation Act No. 10 of 1999 of the Laws of Zambia.
The Workers’ Compensation Fund Control Board invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian citizens to fill the following vacant position.
MAIL CLERK (X1)
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure that there is proper delivery of every mail, parcel or package that passes through the postal room, also ensures that all letters, parcels or packages are delivered to their intended destinations without delay.
B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Examines mails, parcels and cheques for correct details and register them accordingly to avoid wrong mail going to members of the Board.
- Fosters good relations with clients such as ZAMPOST to project a good corporate image of the Board.
- Ensures that mails are handled and transported in a safe and secure manner until proper delivery has been accomplished.
- Looks after and carefully guard; all mail in their custody against loss, theft, or damage, and prevent access to he mail in their custody by unauthorized individuals.
- During rainy season, the postal Clerk must take all necessary precautions to protect the mail from water damage knowing very well that mailbags which are usually used are waterproof.
- In addition to those basic duties, a postal clerk will receive any complaints regarding mail service or delivery and initiate investigations into those complaints.
C. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have the following:
- Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with five (5) credits or better which should include English and Mathematics.
- Certificate in Library and Information Science or Records Management
- At least One (1) yearrelevant experience.
- Numerical and interpersonal skills.
- Good personal organization.
- Computer iteracy.
