Description
To be the financial steward of the company and be responsible for leading all financial aspects of the business including controlling, accounting, cash, cost optimisation, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and the profitable growth and improvement of the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead and co-ordinate with the Country Head and organisational leaders, the development and implementation of financial planning and budgeting in support of the company’s strategic goals and budgets.
- Co-ordinate with the Country Finance Team to ensure that the company’s financial statements are accurate and timely, and in compliance with the Company Group policies.
- Implement and maintain the Company Group financial strategy, policies, procedures, organisation and systems within the Cluster.
- Lead and organise the finance team to meet the immediate and long term financial goals of the Company.
- Create a culture of financial partnership and equip the team with strong analytical, accounting and management skills, with high levels of personal responsibility and professional standards.
- Drive the budgeting, forecasting and reporting functions of the Cluster and ensure achievement of short and long term financial targets.
- Provide advice, leadership and counsel to the Country Head in all areas that impact the financial position of the Cluster.
- Ensures that the countries within the cluster comply with regulatory filing requirements and with the Company Group policies.
- Maintain current awareness of potential, pending, and current legislation that may impact the Country.
- Maximise free cash flow generation in Zambia : Achieve the free cash flow target.
Educational Requirements
- Relevant University Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, a masters degree is an added advantage.
- Relevant Internationally recognised Accounting qualification.
- A track record of high achievement in a complex, matrix international environment.
- Relevant experience at Senior Management level for at least three (3) years.

- Able to lead and manage with a multi-country view, i.e. possesses strong intercultural skills.
- Strong financial planning skills, commercial awareness and a proven track-record of delivering against financial objectives.
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business.
- Management and coaching skills across borders.
- A good conceptual understanding of market research techniques and principles.
- Resilient and tough with a strong character. Able to act on own initiative within set guidelines.
- Strong communicator and team player.
