A reputable company is looking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of  the Assistant Risk & Compliance Officer

The Assistant Risk & Compliance Officer will be based in Lusaka, reporting to the Risk & Compliance Officer. The applicant will be required to demonstrate ability to work with complex organizational structures and processes in a heavily regulated environment. They must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

The Assistant Risk & Compliance Officer’s role will require the applicant to be able to undertake roles in the following areas:

Duties:

  • Design and implement an overall risk management process for the company.

  • Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure compliance with procedure manuals and process controls.

  • Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress on periodic reviews to company heads and for the board

  • Review and sign off of various company documents with third parties before escalating to internal audit.

  • Conduct Compliance & Risk training for all staff at least once a year approval.

  • Risk championing for all the companies through periodic meetings with various company Risk Champions for identification of risks and mitigation measures

  • Monitor compliance systems to ensure effectiveness

  • Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorised enforcement agencies.

  • Conduct critical analysis and research to come up with recommended compliance resolution options

  • Any other adhoc assignments as and when they arise.
  • Qualifications and Skills:

    The suitable candidate for the position will be required to possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

  • Exposure to inspectorate, examinations or reviewing

  • Degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration or any related field.

  • Minimum of at least 3 years in a financial services or audit firm
  • Required Technical skills

    • Excellent research skills
    • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
    • Adequate knowledge of the financial regulatory environment
    • Ability to interpret data
