EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) was set up by the Medicines and Allied Substances Act (No. 3) of 2013 as a statutory body responsible for drug regulation in Zambia.
The Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority invites applications from suitably qualified Zambian citizens to fill the following vacant positions at the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority Secretariat:
ICT Officer – NETWORKS AND SECURITY (1)
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the development and maintenance of Authority’s Network and associated systems in order to facilitate the processing, storage and retrieval of information and also to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Full Form V/Grade 1 2 School Certificate including English and Mathematics ;
- Degree in Information Technology or Equivalent;
- Relevant membership to professional body;
- Cisco Certification;
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to handle a range of systems-related issues;
- Demonstrate ability to apply good judgment in the context of assignments given:
- Ability to use Information Technology effectively as a tool and resource;
- Excellent wri ting and communication ski IIS
- Good communication (spoken and written) skills, including the ability to explain and present technical information, effectively train/advisc users on systems related issucs, applications, etc., and prepare written documentation in a clear, concise style.
- Ability to plan own work and manage conflicting priorities
- General Understanding ofContent Management System
- Ability to identify and analyze user’s needs and develop appropriate technology to meet business requirement;
- Good interpersonal skills ;
- Must be a Zambian citizen not less than 30 years old
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain secured Networks, which includes LANS, VPN/WANs;
- Monitor and evaluate performance of Network (LANS, VPN/WANS);
- Ensure ICT security is maintained for all information assets;
- Support, administration and installations offirewall, hardware and software ;
- Develop and secure network access protocols;
- Conducts timely the development, review of connectivity and security mechanism for the disaster recovery site;
- Develop remote network user support platforms and mechanism while ensuring security and procedures are followed;
- Conduct effective maintenance, Installation, Configurations and disposal of hardware and software in order to facilitate provision of ICT services;
- Facilitation of knowledge building and sharing in the Authority ;
- Participate in the development of ICT procedures and policies;
- Provide ICT support to Users and
- Performs other duties as required or assigned by the Supervisor which are reasonably within the scope ofthe duties enumerated above.
