Description
The Southern Provincial Health Office under the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Project through a Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is seeking for eligible, self-motivated and qualified applicants for the positions listed below for the various levels (Provincial, District, Facility and Community)
(B) DISTRICT LEVEL
JOB TITLE: DISTRICT PREVENTION & HTS OFFICER (06 POSITIONS)
Purpose: The Position is part of the project management team at District level whose main responsibilities will be to build and strengthen the District and Facility level capacity to deliver quality Prevention and HTS services. The Position holder will work with all program Officers to ensure the SPHO meets its annual targets in the Key performance Indicators towards achieving epidemic Control. The job holder will provide expert technical and leadership oversight and support in the District.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage partnerships with the District/Sub-district Department of Health and the Non-government sectors
- Provide technical support and oversight in the provision of HIV Testing services as well as Prevention services in the District.
- Coordinate and liase with other Implementing partners
- Accurately report the HTS data to the District health Office and the M&E Team at SPHO.
- Coordinate the HIV workplace Policy
- Coordinate VMMC Programs in the District
- Coordinate the scale up of HTS and HIV services to Key populations in the District.
- Provide technical oversight on HIV testing modalities for maximum yields
- Communicate daily with field mobilisers to ensure they are all meeting targets for the day
- Provide support at campaigns as and when required and trouble shoot
- Work with the district support partner within the district to ensure HIV stock levels are maintained and raise any concerns should stock levels drop below required minimum
- Communicate stock related issues with the District management team.
- Work with the district support partner to strengthen and increase linkages to care
- Provide ongoing training and support to existing field teams
- Provide training and support to new field teams
Qualifications:
- Grade Twelve (12) Certificate with Five (5) O’ Levels
- Degree/Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Diploma in Nursing with a specialty
- Advanced organizational and planning skills
- Ability to take initiative
- An ability to work independently and to multi-task
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good command of the English language
