Medical Licentiate Technical Advisor and Project Manager, Zambia
Contract Type: Full time (3 years)
Place of Assignment: Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, Lusaka, Zambia with frequent visits to provincial training sites.
Start of Contract:1st July 2019.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and development of the Medical Licentiate Project at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, Lusaka and in establishing the Regional Training Hubs.
- Assist in achieving clear academic and educational goals for the ML Department in the context of competence-based training.
- Supporting ML lecturers/trainers in delivering better teaching through a sustainable faculty development programme, using Technology enhanced Learning (e.g. simulation training and e-Learning technologies).
- Capitalize on opportunities for collecting robust data for operational research on MLs in Zambia.
- Collaborate and coordinate with donors, partners and relevant stakeholders at all levels.
- Expert use of project cycle management tools (planning, reporting, budget control etc.)
Your profile
- A degree in Health Sciences (Medicine, International Public Health, or similar)
- An academic degree/further qualification in education/medical education.
- Good level of management skills; financial management, team building and human resource management, planning and reporting.
- Experience of developing simulation training and blended learning, including e-learning platforms (preferably Moodle)
- Operational research experience; fair credentials on ResearchGate would be desirable.
- Experience of working in African contexts.
- Open-minded personality, intercultural sensitivity, good communication and networking skills.
- Commitment to collaborative approaches, consensus building and team working.
- Hands-on, pro-active but patient personality, able to develop initiatives within a large but still developing national institution.
- Fluency in English with good writing skills
- Competent driver
