Description

Society for Family Health is recruiting for the position of Community Liaison Officer x 1, to be based at Headquarters. The Community Liaison Officer will oversee and coordinate the implementation of the STAR Project activities at community and facility level. He/she will provide guidance to the community volunteers, community level stakeholders and health facility staff to implement set activities to ensure a sustainable approach HIVST service delivery is operationalized. Should be able to inspire and support community stakeholders and facility staff and ensure that they are motivated towards meeting the intended goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to community volunteers, community level stakeholders and health facility staff for smooth implementation of project activities
  • Build the capacity of community and facility level stakeholders in HIVST through training, mentorship and supportive supervision to ensure quality of service delivery
  • Provide technical support to all community level stakeholders implementing HIVST distribution to assure effective post-test linkage to other HIV preventive and treatment services at facility and community level.
  • Lead the process of identifying community level distribution outlets and volunteers for HIVST kits
  • Conduct period assessment of the performance of participating community distribution outlets, community volunteers and health facilities, identify performance gaps and develop performance improvement plans to ensure service delivery standards are upheld
  • Develop, implement and monitor effective demand creation activities to assure a sustained demand for HIVST
  • Ensure that all participating health facilities and community outlets are well stocked with HIVST test kits and required support materials and track usage of stocks against outputs
  • In liaison with the Regional HIVST Coordinator, contribute to development of monthly reports, work plans and budgets
  • Working in liaison with monitoring and evaluation staff, ensure appropriate data management for effective program implementation

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in nursing or social sciences
  • In-depth knowledge of the provincial and district level public health environment required
  • At least 3 years working experience handling HIV testing and community based activities
  •  At least 2 years’ experience in training clinical and community service providers
  • Previous experience working on STAR project will be an added advantage
