IT Support Technician

Silverlands Zambia Ltd is an agricultural business which operates in Central and Southern provinces. The Company wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position for our head office in Lusaka:

IT Support Technician X 1

Job Role:

• Troubleshoots and resolves IT issues;
• Carry out software and hardware rollout projects;
• Resolve escalated or complex queries;
• Installing and maintaining IT hardware, standard software and specialised software as per the Company’s requirements;
• Ensure that exceptional service and support is delivered to users through proactive, innovative and appropriate solutions provided quickly and effectively;
• Ensure the timeous and effective response to user queries and problems through the receipt and logging of problems and the coordination of rapid and appropriate responses aligned to the IT policies and agreed procedures;
• Effectively manage the equipment refresh process, equipment audit process and asset management, ensuring that the deadlines are adhered to and penalties are not incurred;
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including users and suppliers/vendors;
• Cross-training employees on policies, procedures or products.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree/Diploma or equivalent in IT Tertiary qualification or equivalent;
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience (should have been at an organisation with at least 500 users);
• Sound network installation and PC skills;
• Good working knowledge of computer software and a variety of internet applications, networks, Cyberoam and operating systems;
• Diligent with strong attention to detail;
• Excellent organisational, analytical, oral and written communication skills;

This position requires frequent travel out of Lusaka to remote sites.
