Save the Children wishes to invite qualified individuals to apply for the following short term position:
Position : DRIVER – FOR A SHORT PERIOD ASSIGNMENT (1 Position)
Duty Station : Lusaka office
Role Purpose : The Driver is responsible for providing support for staff within Lusaka and mostly for staff that are assigned on project activities in different provinces of Zambia. He/she will support in the area of staff road travel needs and ensuring the maintenance and effective running of the vehicles.
Main Responsibilities:
- Drive staff on project assignments and any other visitors as assigned.
- Ensure that the vehicle is roadworthy at all times.
- Assist the Supply Chain & Fleet Officer to conduct routine vehicle maintenance inspection checks
- Regular updating of vehicle log books.
- Monitoring vehicle performance.
- The post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
Qualification and Experience
- Grade 12 certificate
- A clean valid driver’s license
- 5 years working experience in a reputable organization
- Must be able to priorities work
- Good communication skill
- Experience with word, excel is added advantage
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently
- Must be self-driven, honest, and have the ability to work well under pressure
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
Child Safeguarding:
Level 2 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have minimal contact with or access to children or young people.
