The Finance Intern will work with the Finance and Administration Manager to enhance the accountability of donor funds and to support the work of the Finance Unit and also to give general support to the other units within RESTLESS DEVELOPMENT.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Job title: Finance Intern
Location: Kabwe
Salary: K2625.00 Gross per Month
Preferred start date: 16th December, 2019
Length of contract: 6 Months
Visa requirements: Must have the right to work in Zambia
Reports to: Finance Manager
Direct reports: Assistant Finance Coordinator
Expected travel: Expected travel within Zambia
KEY PRIORITIES
To work with the Finance and Administration Manager to enhance the accountability of donor funds. This includes
- Ensure compliance with RESTLESS DEVELOPMENT financial policies and procedures for donors.
- Promotion of best financial practices.
- Supporting other non-financial staff through relevant coaching and training.
- To assist in distributing volunteer finances
- To support the work of the Finance Unit
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that they are fully supported with relevant documents.
- Post Transactions in Financial Force
- Maintaining and managing staff and volunteer imprests ensuring that they are accurate and updated regularly.
- Raising payment vouchers to facilitate proper authorisation before the cheque is issued in accordance with RESTLESS DEVELOPMENT financial policy.
- Collect receipts and ensure that they are kept in order and that they fully support the payment vouchers.
- Ensure Receipts are collected from Suppliers and Attached to the Correct Payment Vouchers and filed approriately.
- Ensure Supplier Payments are done on time provided all the necessary documentation is attached.
- Support field offices with Funds requests and Retirements
- Pay Young Leaders allowances Via Zoona as and when required.
- To give general support to the other units within RESTLESS DEVELOPMENT
- Work with the Programme staff on programme activities – attending events, supporting training, preparing materials and logistics
- Any other duties assigned by Line Manager

- Weekend work will be required for which Time off in Lieu will be given.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Experience of supporting a project or programme.
- Experience of a public-facing role, with a focus on customer relations/care.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines and be a creative problem solver.
- Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Belief in the values of Restless Development and an ability to uphold them.
- Minimum: ZICA, ACCA, or CIMA level 1,or any other Finance related fields.
Desirable
- Previous work experience in similar accounting position
- Advanced computer skills
- Communicable in Zambian languages
