Description
Reporting to the General Manager.
Job Purpose
To co-ordinate, direct and support activities within the business unit for Security.
To provide regular management, review, implementation and development of the Security Management System in alignment with corporate, local and legislative requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work side-by-side with Operation Manager to assure compliance to Ramp Safety requirements
- Work as part of the corrective action team to address non-conformities related to product, process and service
- Executes monthly self-assessments on the units security and safety
- Evaluates and reports on performance trends related to security and safety
- Reinforces safety awareness to the management and work staff
- Manages continuous improvement projects in safety and security
- Supporting the General Manager in implementing the security policies and procedures for the business in order to maintain operating standards and ensuring legal and corporate compliance
- Advising all levels of the business, ensuring that the dissemination of information is appropriate, factual based and timely to support a positive and active decision-making process
- Coaching/training individuals and teams in local security measures and best practice
- Supporting unit activities and facilitating a best practice approach to problem solving and improvement initiatives
- Corporate auditing of units for compliance against management systems for Security and follow up for non-compliance
- Auditing and assessment of suppliers
- Conducting investigations into breaches of security
- To liaise with legal bodies, appropriate authorities and customers on security matters
Qualifications:
Education:
- Diploma Educated
- 3 years management experience preferably within security.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Counter terrorism experience, criminal investigation experience preferred
- Relevant training in security aspects (Aviation Security Managers course, train the trainer and Recognition of Firearms and Explosives)
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Must have a valid Driver’s license with clean record.
Work Experience:
- Significant proven experience in a security management type role, and/or police or military type of environment, which involved counter terrorism management
- Knowledge of the catering industry and preferably the airline industry
Language / Communication Skills:
- Good team working skills including experience of working cross functionally
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels – Good report writing essential
- Excellent organisational skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong persuasive skills
