Description
The Customer Logistics Manager has direct responsibility of providing both strategic and tactical leadership to drive “best in class” customer service performance (in-stocks, case-fill, on-time, forecast accuracy, perfect order) and build relationships with key customers. The person will also be responsible for developing and leading strategic partnerships with targeted customers. This position supports the Sales Team through management of the complete supply chain system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direction for our Customer to deliver high levels of service to the customer – complete order, on-time delivery, free of damage, and accurate transaction.
- Become an expert in the main process and organization of key customers. Be the internal “voice of the customer” promoting a customer-centric culture.
- Define, collaborate and implement activities needed to achieve key performance indicators (service & cost).
- Lead the activities of the team to maintain seamless communication with the customer, the Sales Teams, and internal functions.
- Lead identification and prioritization of value-added activities that contribute to the growth and cost-effectiveness of the business. Lead the supply chain team to successful implementation.
- Develop the skills and knowledge of the team to ensure fully integrated, differentiated service excellence is delivered both internally and to the key customers.
- Serve as a key liaison between the Logistics teams, Sales teams, and the customer.
- Build and leverage internal and external partnerships to deliver short and long-term business goals.
- Develop procedures to enhance the workflow and efficiency of the team.
- Develop future team leaders through career path planning and execution
Requirements
- Must have BA or BS in supply chain management, business management or another related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop people
- Experience in Customer Service, Logistics and/or Forecasting
- Experience as a manager with direct reporting responsibilities
- High proficiency with computer systems and software applications.
- Superior communication skills – written, oral, and presentation
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with, and a high level of comfort in, contact with the customer both at an every-day operational level as well as at senior level when needed.
