Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia’s development and capacity building programmes focus primarily on Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Economic Security and Youth Empowerment, including Child Protection and Participation. Plan International Zambia has programme areas (PAs) in; Central, Luapula, and Eastern Provinces including in Lusaka, where the Country Office is located.
We are looking for experienced, vibrant and self-starters to fill the following Emergency Response Positions in Central Province:
LOGISTICS AND PROCUREMENT OFFICER – (Food Crisis) – Temporal Position (Central Province (X1)
Position Description:
The position will exist to support the Logistics and supply chain planning for the Emergency Response in Central Province and will coordinate the Vehicle logistics. In collaboration with the Provincial Areas Logistics Officer, line manage the Warehouse Officer & Security Guard at the Warehouse and work in close collaboration with DMMU for food transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse and consolidate requisitions for purchasing in accordance with Plan policies and procedures.
- Consolidate project material requirements submitted by the emergence response staff for purchases.
- Collaboration with the Procurement and Logistics Manager and Purchase committee, compile an updated pre-qualified suppliers list and submit to the ERM and for review and approval.
- Ensure procurement transactions have adequate and accurate supporting documentation.
- Obtain quotations, delivery costs and items and negotiate terms and conditions on behalf of Plan Zambia.
- Ensuring compliance of the organizational policies and procedures as far as supply chain functions are concerned. These will include, fleet management policies, procurement policies and procedures, asset management policies, etc.
Qualifications:
- University degree / Diploma in Procurement and Supply chain Management, Logistics or Business management field with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in similar role at a reputable organization.
- A professional qualification and membership of recognized purchasing and supplies institution.
- Demonstrated relevant progressive experience in similar posts
- Deeper understanding of the various Donor grants procurement rules and guidelines
- Fluent in English and local languages ( Bemba / Nyanja
