Working in Zambia since 1996, Plan International Zambia’s development and capacity building programmes focus primarily on Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Economic Security and Youth Empowerment, including Child Protection and Participation. Plan International Zambia has programme areas (PAs) in; Central, Luapula, and Eastern Provinces including in Lusaka, where the Country Office is located.
We are looking for experienced, vibrant and self-starters to fill the following Emergency Response Positions in Central Province:
CASE MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR -FOOD CRISIS – Temporal Position (Central Province –X1)
Position Description
Responding to the Food Insecurity Crisis in Zambia in Central Province. The following position will report to the Child Protection in Emergencies Coordinator and provide daily coaching and supervision to Case Workers working in response locations in Chisamba.
The incumbent will be responsible for implementing quality case management services across selected wards in Chisamba.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical and management leadership to the Case Management program in accordance with best practice and Plan policies, including its child-centered community-based approach.
- Ensure that solid case management, referral and information management systems are in place for appropriate identification, responses and follow-up for children harmed or at risk of being harmed
- Implement regular case review meetings and conferences for case workers to reflect on progress and to accommodate the lessons learned and improve case management system accordingly (one supervision meeting/case worker/week)
- Ensure the Case Management Database is set up, regularly updated, analyzed for trends in the caseload, and efficiently and confidentially managed in collaboration with relevant partner organizations
- Collaborate with other project staff to ensure referrals to other services such as psychosocial support and education/livelihoods interventions
- Liaise with implementing partners and government stakeholders at the community level to identify cases requiring support in the community
- Ensure staff and volunteers sign and adhere to Plan International’s Code of Conduct and are trained in the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.
- Coordinate and work with the settlement leadership to negotiate and resolve conflicts involving children in a peaceful manner
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelors in Social work, Counseling Psychology, or relevant discipline.
- Previous work experience in community development or with an INGO (preferably in child protection)
- Experience in facilitating community meetings
- Minimum 2 years of professional humanitarian experience (past experience working within Chisamba district a plus)
- Excellent writing, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent command of the English language and other local languages
- Strong drive for results and ensuring timely delivery of quality products.
- Experience managing child protection and gender based violence cases in a sensitive and child friendly manner.
- Previous experience as case worker or managing cases a plus
