PATH is a global organization that works to accelerate health equity by bringing together public institutions, businesses, social enterprises, and investors to solve the world’s most pressing health challenges. With expertise in science, health, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales solutions—including vaccines, drugs, devices, diagnostics, and innovative approaches to strengthening health systems worldwide.

PATH is currently recruiting for a Lead Product Manager to manage a fast-paced and iterative human-centered design project, Living Labs, to increase motivation of immunization health workers in Zambia. The Living Labs initiative will accelerate health innovation by building on existing human-centered design expertise in the countries where PATH works. We are seeking a talented, passionate, design and behavior change professional. This role will manage the day-to-day implementation of a rapidly-iterative project focused on testing solutions to motivate health workers to improve performance. We are looking for an experienced, creative, and solutions-oriented designer and manager with knowledge of immunization context, existing relationships/ability to build trust with national and subnational public health stakeholders, and work collaboratively.

This role will work closely with the projects’ leadership team, coordinate with a second country implementation, and be supported by PATH’s regional and global subject matter experts.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain relationships and authorization to work with health facilities to test solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point for human-centered design of the Living Lab in Zambia.
  • Investigate the health worker experience and devise creative solutions to increase their motivation. Encourage ideas and prioritize solutions.

  • Diligently, transparently, and in real-time document and share iterations and learnings.
  • Collaborate virtually with project leadership and second country team.
  • Evaluate and recommend the motivational solutions with the most potential for impact.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in human-centered design, behavior change, user experience, design, especially for the health sector.
  • At minimum, a Master’s degree in behavior change, product development, design, or similar.
  • Experience managing teams, empowering and mentoring more junior staff.
