Department Overview
Pact, a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, is implementing a UDAID-funded project, USAID/Z-CHPP, aimed at reducing new HIV infections by increasing adoption of high impact HIV services and protective behaviors among at-risk populations, using evidence-based and locally owned solutions. Pact has an immediate need for highly competent country citizens to fill the following position.
Pact exists to help create a world where those who are poor and marginalized exercise their voice, build their own solutions, and take ownership of their future. The Program Department, contributes to realizing this purpose by:
- Facilitating the overall implementation of USAID Z-CHPP;
- Specifically facilitating the implementation of the Faith-Based Initiative component of the project which works with Churches and FBOs to target communities and especially boys, men and children for uptake of HIV and SGBV prevention services.
Position Purpose
The Faith-Based Initiative Coordinator coordinates implementation of Faith-Based Initiative activities in both the DREAMS and Community HIV prevention component of USAID Z-CHPP. S/he provides support to partners, project staff and shareholders in the effective implementation of Faith-Based Initiative activities. Coordination of this component requires close collaboration with the project senior management team and all staff in the technical, finance, M&E and HR units.
The Faith-Based Initiative Coordinator will report to Senior HIV Prevention Advisor and work closely with the DREAMS Senior Manager. Expected Domestic Travel: 45-50%.

Specific Duties:
- Plan and manage implementation of faith-based initiative activities primarily in the DREAMS district of the project
- Contribute to development and re-alignment of plans and budgets by Pact and Partners and ensure the faith-based initiative aligns with overall project objectives and operational guidelines
- Provide overall leadership in the implementation of activities of the faith-based initiative
- Coordinate Partners in day to day management and implementation of the faith-based initiative in DREAMS districts and other selected project sites
- Coordinate with partner Faith-Based Initiative Coordinators to ensure effective implementation of the initiative
- Draft and review of Pact program documents pertaining to the faith-based initiative implementation including progress reports, annual work plans, and programmatic phase-out
- Review monthly economic faith-based initiative financial reports to ensure adherence to IPs and budgets.
- Represent Pact in Partner’s public events related to the faith-based initiative in consultation with the SHPA and SDM
- Support sub partners to ensure timely reporting, monitoring and analysis of results against set targets, and use of data to adjust implementation strategies as necessary.
- Develop technical papers, presentations and reports to document faith-based initiative implementation, key achievements, best practices and lessons learned to share with donor and relevant stakeholders.
Minimum Recruitment Standards
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Health, Development Studies/Administration, Community Development, Theology or any related field.
- Training and knowledge in community HIV/AIDS prevention and working with Churches and Faith-Based Organizations in HIV response.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in both NGO and HIV environment and implementing PEPFAR programs.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and manage a variety of activities concurrently.
- A strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in high profile, fast-paces environment.
- Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) technical issues effectively and persuasively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects effectively, think analytically and take initiative in solving problems.
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
