Reconciliation Accountant / Financial Controller

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve cash and bank reconciliations
• Reconcile collections against receipting and provide updates to management
• Ensure all debtors, suppliers and General Ledger are properly reconciled.
• Review and approve inventory reconciliation
• Perform variance analysis of income statement and provide explanations and recommend actions
• Perform random audits at various sites
• Adhere to corporate standards and procedures in all reconciliation activities
• Ensure regulatory audits are finalized accurately and in a timely manner
• Improve personal skill set regarding software proficiency, financial analysis and data processing
• Maintain safe custody of company fixed assets, assuring that assets records tie up with physical assets.
• File all reconciliations and any other work in a well-organized manner
• Regular audits of internal controls and recommend changes if need be.
• Ensure that Trial Balance is reconciled prior to the preparation of monthly and quarterly financials
• Preparing of management reports, including monthly reports, quarterly reports etc.
• Learn to assistant finance manager on day to day activities be able take cover when he is absent

Qualifications/Requirements

• Graduated within the past 6 years. with 3 to 4 experience in senior accounting position (Chief accountant/ Finance controller/Assistant financial manager)
• Accounting degree with minimum Meritorious degree classification
• Fully Qualified ACCA / CIMA / ZICA
• Secondary school qualification with Distinction or Merit
• Minimum of B+ pass in mathematics, accounting subjects.
• Good knowledge of Zambia’s Tax system will be added advantage
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Good computer skills
