In pursuit of its business strategies in Zambia, the company invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position mentioned below, to join its team at ORYX Oil Zambia Ltd, based on the Copperbelt and Lusaka.
Human Resource Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Human Resource goals, objectives and systems for the company
- Develop Human Resource policies in line with the latest Zambian Labour Code
- Prepare HR reports for local management team and head office
- Maintain employee personnel files according to the company policy
- Design staff development programs and assess training needs
- Facilitate periodic staff appraisal in conjunction with other head of sections
- Manage the company’s recruitment process
- Be the point of communication between staff and management on industrial issues
- Support head of sections in implementing HR best practice regarding productivity, safety and performance
- Participate in the payroll preparation process
- Inform management of changes in the labour market, legal or otherwise
- Facilitate disciplinary action process
- Control and approve leave applications
- Manage the company’s medical scheme
- Evaluate labour requirements of the company
- Ensure the company is compliant all the time
- Manage the relationship with third parties in the labour systems such as NAPSA, Workers Compensation and Labour Commissioner
- Any other HR duty that might rise from time to time.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Graduated within the past 6 years, with 3 to 4 experience in Human Resource position
- Degree in Human Resource
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource with Practicing Licence
- Good knowledge of Zambia’s labour system
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Must be a good team player, independent and self-confident.
