The Finance Advisory Services (FAS) team is made up of in-country analysts that are the trusted advisors to country leadership teams in the area of financial sustainability. Taking vast amounts of financial intelligence from budgets, spending patterns and projected work plans, FAS provides concise, actionable advice around how to allocate resources to best achieve the country’s scale and impact goals. The goal of our small group of financial consultants is complete financial sustainability to efficiently scale impact.
To help achieve this, the Financial Analyst will work across functions on budgeting and quantitative analysis. We are looking for an intern with leadership potential. This is a career track role where you will learn valuable skills in finance and accounting.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting all departments with updating and tracking of budgets.
- Perform monthly BVA (Budget vs. Actuals) analysis while maintaining an over-expenditure tracker.
- Analyzing financial data for trends and give advice to support departments in improving efficiency.
- Conduct monthly payroll QC for VIP payroll.
- Support with PAYE, VAT, and WHT and ensure timely monthly tax filing.
- Draft monthly financial communication to all staff
- Support LOG with their monthly reconciliation ensuring correct update of data.
- Support BizOps with monthly farmer receivables reconciliation ensuring that it is done in a timely manner.
- Assist with various strategic initiatives throughout the year as and when required.

Qualifications
We are seeking an exceptional, early career professional with 0-1 years of experience in finance. Candidates fitting the following profile are strongly encouraged to apply:
Citizenship in Zambia – you will be asked to submit a copy of your passport biodata page or your national ID card
Exceptional recent college graduate or young professional in Commerce, Business Management, economics or statistics.
Some work experience in finance preferred
Proficient in excel skills
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Leadership experience at work, school clubs, volunteer organizations etc.
Strong interest in One Acre Fund’s work serving smallholder farmers
Strong desire for personal and professional growth
Flexibility and a willingness to take on varied tasks
Ability to work both independently and part of a team
Fluent in English

Compensation
Interns will be provided with a reasonable stipend for the duration of their contract. Rural area based fellows will be provided assistance in locating suitable housing. The fellowship/internship program is a recruiting initiative.
