1.0 Job Identification

1.1 Job Title: Resident Engineer

1.2 Grade: NGM 4

1.3 Department: Design and Construction Supervision

2.0 Job Purpose

Reporting to the Chief Resident Engineer, the job holder shall be responsible for Supervision of Construction works for a Concrete Ground reservoir Project funded by the World Bank. (Please note that this advert is different from the previous one. The previous was assistant Resident Engineer, this is Resident Engineer)

3.0 Responsibilities

3.1  Interpret Detailed Designs and work closely with Contractor to make sure the work is done according to the Designs.

3.2  Supervise the execution of all civil works and ensure timely completion of assignments within defined budget and schedules Projects.

3.3  Prepare Payment certificate for works completed and submit to the Chief Resident Engineer.

3.4  Prepare progress reports on project works and completion reports.

3.5  Perform any duties assigned by Chief Resident Engineer from time to time

4.0  Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

4.1   University Degree or Masters in Civil / Water Engineering or related

4.2  He/she should have at least fifteen (15) years sound post graduate experience in the supervision of construction and contract management based on FIDIC Conditions and other international procedures, at least five of which as Resident Engineer.

4.3  He/she should be familiar (minimum two years recent) with the environment of construction in developing countries outside his/her home country, and have experience in the construction of water treatment plants.

4.4  Willing to work outside Zambia
