PROJECT MANAGER

1. Purpose of the Job

To plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of specific projects the Bank embarks on and to work closely with senior management and other departments for support to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule.

2. Key Responsibilities

a) Ensure accurate cost estimation based on coverage of client requirements and project scope.
b) Ensure project budgets are managed within the project scope.
c) Ensure projects are delivered on target within due date, budget and according to scope and project governance.
d) Ensure management of scope, including coverage of stakeholder requirements, are created based on estimations.
e) Manage delivery of project against agreed schedule.
f) Manage project priorities effectively and ensured dependencies are catered for according to the project scope.
g) Identify project stakeholders, communicate their roles, define their level of participation in project, and map their communication needs and stakeholder engagement strategies throughout the project plan.
h) Ensure business change impact is conducted across process, systems and technology in accordance with change management plan.
i) Ensure the change management process is led and supported together with the Stakeholders.
j) Ensure compliance to procedures, policies guidelines Identify obstacles and escalate deviations from project plan.
k) Direct and coordinate activities and monitor delivery of resources deployed to the project.
l) Monitor project performance and mitigate all project risk.
m) Manage project plan by identifying the impact of projects on all aspects of business operations.
n) Ensure sufficient resource allocation across project or programme.
o) Ensure work obstacles are resolved and problems managed.
p) Ensure active participation in ongoing innovation on Project Management Methodology.
q) Provide input into the Project Steering committee
r) Develop and implement the Compliance and Risk Management framework as it relates to project management.
s) Any other duties as assigned by superiors

3. Qualifications and Experience

• Full grade 12 certificate
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field
• Project Management post qualification required
• Eight (8) years work experience within IT projects of which Five (5) years must be in Project Management
• Knowledge of Agile Project Development
• Knowledge in Management practices, skills and concepts, administration, project control, supervisory techniques and budgeting.
• Experience in payments and banking industry will be an advantage
