We are inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:
SALES & DISTRIBUTION MANAGER – LUSAKA
Contract: Permanent
Reporting to the Brewery Manager, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following:
- Prepares budgets for approval by the Brewery Manager
- Produces a weekly and monthly Sales and Distribution report
- Prepares sales forecasts and draws up distribution plans. Monitors and reviews the forecast and plans daily, weekly and monthly
- Liaises with the Production Manager for brewing forecasts taking market demand and sales budgets into consideration
- Implements the distribution plan basing on demand forecast
- Monitors on premises sales
- Ensures proper handling of cash and monitors shortages by Driver/Salesmen and the Gate Sales Cashier
- Liaises with appropriate employees to ensure that trucks are repaired or serviced on time to avoid delays for dispatching beer
- Attends to customer complaints and queries such as pricing and poor delivery of the products
- Appraises routes and sales performance with the view of achieving optimum vehicle utilisation (including fuel) and maximum sales
- Investigates losses to determine causes thereof and takes appropriate measures to ensure that they are kept to a minimum
- Manages and maintains adherence to all health and safety requirements and standards within the department
- Ensures that the cleanliness of trucks is upheld
- Promotes staff hygiene and the use of proper protective clothing
- To maintain an environment within Sales and Distribution that fosters equal and fair employment practices
- To communicate effectively with subordinates
- Maintains discipline within the department to ensure a harmonious working environment exists
The job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements and possess the following attributes.
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Commercial, Business or Related field
- Experience in Microsoft Office
- Polite with ability to communicate well
- Team player
- Sober mind, self-starter physically fit and honest
- Applicants should have a valid driver’s license
- Minimum 5 years in marketing or commercial role at minimum supervisory level
- Valid Driving License
