Forklift Operator

We are inviting applications to fill the following vacant position:

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

Contract: Permanent

Reporting to the Warehouse Controller, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following:

• Ensuring that the correct and accurate loading of trucks is done according to the loading/picking slip
• Checking that the correct date codes (expiry dates) are reflected on stock loaded on trucks
• Facilitating of stock rotation
• Ensuring timely offloading of trucks is done within stipulated standards
• Facilitating the stacking of empties and finished product in designated areas
• Maintaining a clean work environment by keeping bins, pallet area and workstations neat
• Emptying waste skips
• Maintaining a safe work environment by not endangering yourself and others
• Ensuring that the correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times
• Ensuring safe operating procedures and work instructions are followed at all times
• Reporting safety hazards, accidents and incidents to your supervisor
• Ensuring that the daily forklift pre-start checklist is conducted

The job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements and possess the following attributes.

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Forklift Drivers Certificate
• Ability to communicate well
• Team player
• Ability to adhere to instructions, work in shifts with minimum supervision and hard worker
• Sober mind, self-starter physically fit and honest
