The University of Maryland Baltimore with funding from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will conduct the Zambia National Population HIV Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA 2020).
ZAMPHIA 2020 will assess progress towards achievement of the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets on national and subnational levels. The data will be used to focus HIV services and resources to the areas of greatest need and help move Zambia closer to HIV epidemic control.
The University of Maryland Baltimore affiliate, Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation Zambia (MGIC Zambia) is currently inviting applications from interested persons, who meet the minimum requirements to apply to the key positions advertised. Project Duration is scheduled for eighteen (18) months and successful candidates will be offered employment for that period.
Director of Operations
Director of Operations will oversee our ZAMPHIA 2020 operations and procedures. The Director of Operations is a key member of the senior management team, reporting to the Project Director. He/She will maintain control of diverse project operations and ensure the project is run in an ethic manner adhering to USG funding requirements and MGIC policies and procudures. As an experienced and efficient leader, he/she will oversee Office management (including training logistics and media), Human Resources, Finance, Procurement, and Supply Chain/Logistics.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures to ensure project implementation runs smoothly
- Oversee daily operations of Office Management, HR, Finance, Procurement and Supply Chain Logistics.
- Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
- Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
- Manage relationships with outside partners/vendors
Qualifications:
- Master, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus 10 years relevant experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience working on Supply Chain/Logistics & Operations training, or technical assistance projects related to public health or a health-related field.
- Minimum 10 years’ Experience in Health, Safety & Security Management of staff
- Demonstrated proven experience in health supply chain activities, finance, administration, procurement processes and project purchasing
- Ability to work independently and tack, log multiple processes
- Experience preferred in customer service / administration in customer service environment.
- Outstanding organization skills and coordination abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with wide variety of stakeholders including country teams and government entities.
- Demonstrated competence working within CDC or similar governmental regulations and procedures.
