Description
The Centre for International Health, Education, and Biosecurity (CIHEB) of the University Maryland Baltimore (UMB), together with the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ), are implementing a Community Impact to Reach Key & Underserved Individuals for Treatment & Support (CIRKUITS) project. The CIRKUITS project will partner with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and community based civil society to implement community-based combination HIV prevention interventions, ensure all people living with HIV (PLHIV) know their status, HIV positive people are connected to treatment and achieve viral suppression so that Zambia achieves HIV epidemic control.

Job Description
The Community Liaison Officer will report to the District Nurse Lead. He/She will support the project in the planning, coordination and implementation of community based tracking of ART missed appointment visits, HIV testing, linkage to treatment and prevention services aimed at improving access to HIV services among adolescents, men, pregnant and breast feeding women.
Job Description for CLOs
Under the supervision of the clinical educator the Community Liaison Officer (CLO) will conduct;
- Supervise community health workers in HIV testing services including HIV index testing, social networking testing and community testing with risk assessment
- Compile daily and weekly data reports of HIV tests and linkage to preventive and treatment services
- Train and Mentor Community Health Workers in HIV testing services and linkage to care.
- Conduct community mobilization and sensitization on HIV prevention and treatment services
- Support the district in raising awareness for early HIV testing and linkage to treatment
- Work with the Ministry of Education and community development to reach out to the in-school and out-of-school adolescents with priority population prevention messages and HIV testing services
- Collaborate with other community based civil society to promote up-take of HIV Testing services
- Collect and enter data in the electronic community health information system
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 School certificate
- Diploma in Social Work or community development or adult education
- Certificate in HIV psychosocial Counseling with experience in index testing
- 3 years of work experience with HIV Counseling and Testing
- Registered with the Zambia counseling council
- Willing to live in the district where the project will be implemented
- Computer literacy in Excel, Power point and Word
