Description
The University of Maryland Baltimore with funding from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will conduct the Zambia National Population HIV Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA 2020).
ZAMPHIA 2020 will assess progress towards achievement of the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets on national and subnational levels. The data will be used to focus HIV services and resources to the areas of greatest need and help move Zambia closer to HIV epidemic control.
The University of Maryland Baltimore affiliate, Maryland Global Initiatives Corporation Zambia (MGIC Zambia) is currently inviting applications from interested persons, who meet the minimum requirements to apply to the key positions advertised. Project Duration is scheduled for eighteen (18) months and successful candidates will be offered employment for that period.
AIMS & Dashboard Lead
AIMS & Dashboard Lead is responsible for effectiveness and efficiency of the Survey Data Mentoring Center, Network and deployed Applications, with primary emphasis on the Activity Information Management System(AIMS) and other internal applications systems.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the Development, Deployment and Maintenance of the Activity Information Management System for the Zambia Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (ZAMPHIA 2020).
- Manage, configure, secure, support and troubleshoot applications and services on associated physical servers, virtual servers, networks, storage systems and information security systems required for the function of AIMS
- Lead the process for the management and processing of all laboratory instrument files into AIMS
- Manages request for report and data from the survey stakeholders and oversee the writing and execution of ad hoc queries
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree, MSc preferred in Health Informatics or Software Engineering
- Minimum four (4) years of related experience designing, managing and working directly with databases from large research studies.
- Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#, .NET, Java etc.)
- Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web framework
- 4+ years’ experience in developing and administering Microsoft SQL server databases
- Expert knowledge in RSBMS concepts, data normalization, SQL Server, and T-SQL
- Experience developing ETL robust processes
- Extensive experience writing T-SQL. stored procedures, and query tuning on high-transaction systems
- Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills.
- Experience working in resource-limited environments in Sub-Saharan Africa a plus.
