Description
Lubambe Copper Mine is located within the Greater Konkola Area of the Zambian Copperbelt and consists of a large – scale mining license covering an area of approximately 240 square kilometres. The mine is a modern, world class facility with fully mechanized underground operations.
Lubambe Copper Mines is owned by EMR Capital of Australia (80%) and ZCCM – Investments Holdings (20%).
The Mine is currently in a ramp up stage and will ultimately produce 45, 000 tonnes of contained copper and will employ approximately 1,500 people. The Plant infrastructure consists of a Concentrator plant, a laboratory and underground infrastructure. The Concentrator incorporates crushing, milling, flotation and filtration. The design capacity is 2.5 MTPA of ore at an average mill grade of 2.3% copper, yielding 45,000 tonnes of contained copper in concentrate to be sold to smelter in Zambia.
To support this vision, Lubambe Copper Mine seeks to employ experienced and qualified individuals in the following positions:
TEAM COORDINATOR (x1)
Type of employment: 1-year contract
Purpose of this position
The core purpose of this position is to assist the Corporate Analyst with day to day tasks including, document control and specific project assistance as outlined below.
Key Performance Areas / Indicators (KPA/Is):
1. Document control – day-to-day responsibilities focused on the management/control and tracking of documents:
- Collate and file documents in a virtual data room (“per assigned deadlines”);
- Escalate in good time challenges with getting required information/documents;
- Retrieve and/or distribute project-related information as required;
- Ability to facilitate document reviews and report on document status; and
- Maintain confidentiality around sensitive information.
2. Specific project assistance – manage project tracking system:
- Ensure actions are assigned to members of the project team as agreed;
- Follow up on status of actions while staying alive to assigned deadlines;
- Escalate in good time issues of non/under performance of assigned tasks by team members; and
- Analysis and reporting on the status of the project.
3. Other duties as assigned such as :-
- Scheduling/facilitating meetings and minute taking;
- Maintain central calendar ensuring the team is informed on what is going on, on daily basis or as required;
- General assistance during presentations;
- Any other duties as assigned during the course of business.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Project Management, IT or business-related field;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a large operation, however fresh graduates encouraged to apply
- Proficient with MS Office;
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal;
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and requiring minimum supervision;
- Attention to detail and ability to meet conflicting deadlines;
- Eager and willing to learn in a past paced organisation;
- Project Management skills (added advantage); and
- Data organization skills.
