Legal Officer at Indeni

Indeni Petroleum Refinery Company Limited is a Company incorporated under the Companies Act Chapter 388 situated in Ndola. Zambia. INDENI is owned by the Industrial Development Corporation (Zambia) Limited and is the country’ sole refinery of crude oil into finished products.

It is seeking a well educated, hardworking and disciplined individual to fill the position of LEGAL OFFICER reprting to Legal Counsel/Company Secretary, the candidate will bd responsible for but not limited to:

• Review and draft contracts and agreements [including tender dexuments] and ensuring that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
• Undertake litigation on behalf of the company which will include preparation ofcase briefs and witnesses for trial.
• Review documents and attend meetings in order to render legal advise for the benefit of the company and forestall litigation.
• Review all contracts or any other document where the Company has itself and assess legal implications that need to be brought to management’s attention:
• Undertake and perform any other duties as delegated by his/her supervisor.

Educational. Professional and other Requirements

• Full Grade 12 Certificate;
• University degree in law (LLB) from a recognized university,
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in litigation and commercial transactions:
• Must be an advexate ofthe High Court of Zambia;
• Demonstrate success in managing and conducting a variety oflitigation matters;
• Proven ability to delicately solve sensitive matters;
• Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary to interact with government officials, the judicial system and internal clients;
• Good planning and organization skills;
• High level of confidentiality, dependability and attention to detail;
• Computer skills:
• Aged between 25 – 35years old
