IDS International is seeking a PSO Senior SME – Female Engagement Team (FET) Trainer to support the ACOTA Peacekeeping Operations Training and Assistance in Zambia. The Peace Support Operations (PSO) Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) (Female Engagement Team) shall provide specialty instruction to individuals and military units receiving training. his position is contingent upon award.
Responsibilities:
- Instruct and supervise training for African officers and their soldiers who shall deploy to PSOs.
- PSO Senior SME for FET training shall have previous background in this specialty from a military or civilian accredited course.
- Senior SMEs are required to know and/or review and incorporate U.S. military doctrine, United Nations, and Partner nation guidance applicable to the task assigned.
- Training will involve classroom and field instruction in austere environments.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten (10) years U.S. or foreign military experience as a civil-military cooperation (CIMIC) practitioner and at least one deployment as part of a FET or on a provincial reconstruction team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a U.S. or foreign equivalent recognized FET course for land forces.
- Experience working in sub-Saharan Africa.
Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
