Our client DAPP Zambia, is looking for an eligible and qualified individual to fill up the position of Finance and Operations Director for a USG funded project ZamFam, to be based in Kabwe, Zambia
The job overview
The incumbent will be responsible for oversight of all financial and operational matters within the program, including managing financial systems, generating financial reports, tracking expenses, administering sub-awards, managing finance and operational issues and managing staff at project level and supporting staff in field/district offices.

Education and Experience Required
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus a Professional accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, CIMA, articles training is an added advantage.
- Active membership of a recognised professional accounting body in Zambia such as Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) at Fellow level.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience managing finances and operations of a comparable program at a senior level (with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity).
- In-depth knowledge of USAID financial management rules and regulations.
- Mature person with strong management skills who also possess excellent organisational and analytical skills; accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and computer skills, including e-mail, Excel and Word skills and experience with automated accounting systems; Pastel Accounting experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting, budgeting and fiscal control theory and practices.
- Excellent verbal and written English communications skills.
- Hands on experience and ability to train/mentor staff in accounting requirements as well as ability to be a team player in a busy environment, often with tight deadlines
Basic Contractual Information
Location: Based in Kabwe with travel to Ndola, Lusaka and the 10 districts in the Central and Southern Provinces within Zambia.
Duration: 11 months with the with a strong possibility to continue for 3-5 years after that.
Reports to: Chief Financial Manager and Country Director (Functionally) and Chief of Party (Operationally).
