Job Content

The purpose ofthe job is to supervise the operations of the Central Processing Center (CPC) involving generation of duty worksheets and registration of entries onto the customs system under various Ports  of entry in accordance with ZRA-Customs regulations.

Principle responsibilities;

• The Manager will be expected to plan, organize, control and monitor all the activities at the CPC.
• He/she will be accountable for all transactions generated at the CPC, by ensuring that only approved company transactions are processed and that entries are registered in accordance with customs regulations.
• He/She will be required to ensure timely generation and transmission of duty worksheets for clients to respective branch offices, compliance in terms of classification, valuation, origin and any other matters relating to worksheet generation and registration of entries. The manager will plan the staffing levels and motivate staff to work as a team in order to achieve the objectives of the organization. He/she should also have thefollowing competences.

Qualifications and skills

• Full Grade Twelve Certificate
• Clearing and Forwarding Diploma
• First Degree orAdvanced Diploma in Business Administration
• More than five years working experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry or Customs at supervisory/management Level
• Knowledge and understanding of The Customs Legislation
• Knowledge of customs clearance procedures with good understanding of the different types of clearances
• Knowledge and understanding ofASYCUDAsystem
• Managerial/Leadership skills
• Good communication skills
