Description
The Financial Manager shall be a leader of a motivated team and Supervisor of the Finance department. With exceptional Integrity and effectiveness, he will ensure efficient service delivery by putting in place systems and clear accounting and cash management procedures to protect Company resources. He will ensure daily reconciliations of all cash transactions and balancing of ledgers. To this end, the job holder shall be required to contribute to the growth of the business through appropriate reporting and management of resources to reduce costs, eliminate wastage and by providing value adding support to other departments.
Responsibilities:
- The Financial Manager shall be responsible for all Management Accounting requirements.
- He/ she shall control and manage company assets.
- He/she shall be responsible for sound cash flow management.
- Manage performance management systems and ensure performance appraisals are done for the team.
- Ensure financial and budgetary control.
- Be responsible for timely daily, weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting.
- Assist in Risk Management and ensure compliance of statutory obligations.
- Other responsibilities as may be directed Senior Management.
Skills and Personality
- The Financial Manager must be a disciplined and person of high integrity.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to handle a lot of pressure
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
- ICT skills, Database management
- Strong report writing skills (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point Presentations etc)
- Basic account management and budgeting skills
- Performance management skills
- Ability to work long hours and to tight deadline
- Willingness to undergo criminal record screening at company cost.
- Willingness to undergo medical checkup at company cost
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Education and other minimum requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Accountancy with a professional qualification above associate level
- Paid up member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants
- At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in a Financial Institution or similar environment.
Applicants who meet the minimum requirements and are not currently in employment will have an added advantage.
