Job Introduction:

Regional Finance Manager

G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading global integrated security solutions company, has a vacancy for a Regional Finance Manager, based at our offices in Zambezi.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Manager coordinates the provision of effective financial support services within the business, in compliance with legislation and Company policies and procedures.

The successful incumbent is a self starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which Finance plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Role Responsibility:

Ensure monthly review and authorization of finances and processes
  • PR’s (with relevant budget checking process) and CAPEX approvals
  • Invoicing and EFT’s
  • Quotes and costings done by Cost Accountant
  • Petty cash and other cash recons
  • Triangle balancing and confirm anomalies with accountants
  • Vendor applications
  • Credit notes
Ensure that contracts remain profitable
  • Analyzing and investigating any anomalies
  • Discuss and formulate improvement plan with GMs & RD and keep track of it
  • Contract risk consolidation & mitigation
Logistical overview
  • Working through and comparing re-assessments, vehicle replacements & settlements
  • Overview of assets and FAR monthly and during the yearly audit
  • Overview on monthly reports (order schedule, vehicle lists, etc)
Manage and support with regional Account Receivable queries
  • Liaise and assist National AR team with billing queries
  • Responsible and accountable for the regional financial management
  • Ensure compliance with existing policies and procedures
  • Prepare and submit budget and forecasts approved by ROD
  • Ensure that accurate budget/forecast templates are loaded in the system (new ERP system)
  • Review the detailed 12 month report
  • Review and authorise balance sheet recons
  • Revenue recons
  • Ensure accurate upload of financial packs / flash
  • Update wage model
  • Update portfolio movement
  • Manage PI process and send out PI letters (3 months in advance)
  • Review final trade pack
  • Prepare for Trade review
  • HOD meetings
  • General financial management of regional costs
  • Analysis and evaluation of monthly accounts, reviewing actual performance against budget, identifying trends and highlighting variances, providing accurate management information to the Regional Management Team.
  • Adherence to group minimum financial controls
  • Internal and external audit assistance
  • Sole ownership of integrity of trial balance
Labour Management
  • Maintenance and effective management of labour bins, in particular spare and suspension bins, through management of ER personnel.
  • Attend regular meetings with Operations on manpower and labour controls, in conjunction with ER personnel
  • Oversight on contract requirements and excess staff, in conjunction with Operations
  • Manage the provision of labour control and management processes through ER team
  • Weekly and monthly wage forecast and other labour report analysis and management

    • Sick & Awol trends
    • Performance bonus and allowances
    • Review head count planning done by HR
  • Conduct monthly reviews of wage cost
  • Report on all discrepancies
Payroll Management
  • Analyse and review all wage and salary first and final earning reports
Staff management and development
  • Ensure overall compliance of staff to financial procedures and policies
  • All team members have clearly defined job profiles aligned to manager profile
  • Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
  • Completed development plans for each employee
  • Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
  • Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within team and to other teams requiring the information
  • Ensure adequate succession plan to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements
Health and Safety
  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.
  • Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks
  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
  • Discuss all safety incidents on all levels
  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/ committee/ representative/ management
  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace
  • Distribute safety information as and when required
  • Wear protective clothing all the time

Minimum Requirements

Qualification

● Relevant B-Tech degree in Financial Management (Accounts II)

● Qualified CA/CIMA

Experience

● Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Management
