Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse situations and propose strategy as required
- Ensure levels and demarcation needs are clearly understood
- Report on operational condition of the equipment
- Attend shift change, receive and discuss daily needs
- Check daily work operations and respond effectively
- Respond to effectiveness of PPE
- Maintain an awareness of risk in the working environment and around equipment
- Optimize own performance and assists others where appropriate
- Respond to procedural effectiveness
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
- Complies with all safety procedures, rules and regulations and observes all work rules and regulations
- Ensure resources are managed and maintain good housekeeping of the Truck at all times.
Knowledge & Skills:
- The Stemming Truck Operator will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following areas:
- Excellent skills Drilling and Blasting Operations
- Hazard identifier expertise
- Excellent safety, people and performance management skills
Experience & Qualification:
- Blasting licence with 2 years minimum experience in blasting operations
- G12 Certificate
- Valid light vehicle Class C driver’s license (with at least 2 years’ experience)
- At least 2 years’ open pit work experience as blaster in open pit operations
- Basic Health and Safety Silicosis certificate
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A valid Class C drivers licence with minimum of 2 years’ experience.
