Key Responsibilities
The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- To assist with manual stripping and prepping of structures and equipment surfaces for corrosion protection application
- Application of multi step corrosion paints and epoxies
- Use of power tools related to painting and surface preparation
- Assembly of scaffolding for applications
- Sandblasting
- Other duties as directed
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate
- Must have obtained a painter’s and corrosion protection craft certificate
- Must have a scaffold erector and inspector certificate
Experience
- Minimum of five years work experience painting on a construction site with supporting references – work on domestic installations would be an advantage
- Experience in sandblasting and surface preparation is a necessary requirement
