Key Responsibilities;
- The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- Use Wencomine FMS and HPGPS tracking systems to monitor the accurate and timely assignment and recording of material during load and haul.
- Assist the mine planning engineering and mining operations team, via set escalation processes, in identifying and highlighting non-compliance to mine plans and/or planned feed grade deviations where feasible.
- Provide continuous feedback to the Shift Engineer regarding any risk to ore control or feed plan – including changes to equipment availability/location, HPGPS availability/reliability etc.
- Coordinate digger re-calibration between the Production, Planning, Survey and Maintenance teams.
- Remotely monitor Production operators to ensure compliance with agreed mining practices and validation checks.
- Initiate and facilitate block sign off process to ensure compliance of associated processes.
- Communicate feed and relevant operational information via hourly and shift reports.
- Investigate, validate and reconcile any erroneous information providing reasons and improving understanding reasons for deviation.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Monitor and track x – y – z special compliance and escalate matters arising.
- Monitor completed shift and production reports in an efficient and timely manner and ensuring that information required in making production decisions is readily available and accurate.
- Any duties as assigned by the Optimization Manager / Supervisor
Qualifications & Exposure;
- Minimum Grade 12 with at least 5 passes
- Diploma or Degree in mining Engineering / Equivalent
- Demonstrable computer skills/certificates preferable
- Exposure to open pit mine operations
