The combination of the First Quantum and Inmet assets has created one of the world’s leading copper producers with a geographically diversified portfolio of high-quality operations and development projects in eight countries across five continents.
With a strategic plan to produce more than 1 million tonnes per annum of copper within five years, the Company is poised to become the largest, widely-held pure-play copper producer and one of the top five copper producers in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarization of maintenance operations / practices.
- Knowledge of condition based maintenance.
- Report writing and presentations with maintenance.
- Reliability Engineering and optimization through big data analysis.
- Track and report reliability Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
- Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including, Asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability and costs of assets.
- Project management with optimization.
- Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- Member of EIZ
- Driving License
- Computer Literate
- Previous experience in open pit, truck, shovel operations would be added advantage
- A minimum of 3 years’ post University graduation working experience in a similar role in a mining environment.
- A good understanding of Conditional Monitoring techniques, Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Failure Modes/ Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) will be an added advantage.
- Ability to coordinate multiple disciplines within projects to meet customers’ specific performance requirements for quality, cost and completion targets.
