Key Responsibilities
The holder of this position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
- To assist with sandblasting and painting of fabricated items
- Ensure surface preparation are effected prior to paint application
- Erect scaffolding for new installations and paint application
- To assist with manual stripping and prepping of structures and equipment surfaces for corrosion protection application
- Application of multi step corrosion paints and epoxies
- Use of power tools related to painting and surface preparation
- Other duties as directed
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
- Must have obtained a Painter’s craft certificate
- Certified as a Scaffold builder
Experience
- Minimum of three years work experience painting and scaffolding on a construction site with supporting references – work on domestic installations would be an advantage
