Key Responsibilities
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
- Develop team and build working relationships – Set direction and pace of the team by translating organizational goals , Due to the service nature of the position, build strong and effective collaborative relationships with others internal and external to the department, Build and develop team talent.
- Equipment Strategies – Develop and maintain the equipment strategies workflow process, ensure equipment strategies are updated based on outcomes of failure investigations where appropriate, Develop and maintain critical assessment for section Identify the most suitable approach to identify equipment strategies.
- Lead the Field Inspector routines and condition monitoring routines like; Operator inspections, Pre-PM inspections, PM Inspections, Post-PM audit inspection, Machine system performance test.
- Defect Elimination – Develop and support personnel in usage of RCA methodology.
- Condition Monitoring Programme – Identify the most suitable PdM technology to implement and importing of equipment generated data Develop and maintain the condition monitoring workflow process; Identify the most suitable PdM technology to implement and importing of equipment generated data;
- Develop and support condition monitoring technicians.
- Fluid Management and Analysis- Organize and scheduling oil sampling, magnetic plug inspection, filter, breather, strainer, screen inspection and fluid consumption are reviewed and acted upon where applicable as part of CBM programme; Develop and maintain the contamination control strategic plan.
- Implement data reporting tools – Develop and maintain the data summarizing and reporting tools and new technology implementation strategic plan where applicable.
- Suppliers -To discuss condition monitoring services that may not be able to be provided on site.
- OEMs – To investigate issues of concern and monitor points and trigger levels.
- Monitor and improve condition monitoring data collection – Investigate application of new PdM techniques and/or expand application of current PdM techniques; Monitor the performance and application of PdM techniques for condition monitoring; Identify opportunities to automate condition monitoring through the usage of new technologist.
Experience & skill:
- Experience in the use of a recognized CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) preferably pronto.
- Competency on Condition Monitoring and Reliability as well predictive maintenance techniques, but not limited to: oil analysis, vibration analysis, NDT, thermography and health monitoring.
- Have good communication skills in the English language with an emphasis on writing skills.
- At least 5 years of maintenance /engineering experience in the mining/mineral processing industry.
- Detailed knowledge of HSE systems and displays leadership in driving incident free operations.
