Key Responsibilities:
Build collateral and cross–boundary working relationships
- Demonstrate effective collateral and cross-boundary team working relationships.
- Organize and prioritize work requirements. Deliver on commitments.
- Identify ways to do things faster, better, at less cost, with less waste, etc.
- Strives to create a “wow” experience for the customer (maintenance and operations).
Perform condition monitoring field inspections and manage external contractors
- Perform condition monitoring data collection and assigned field inspections according to guidelines provided by equipment strategies.
- Monitor compliance of condition monitoring inspections and keep data up to date according to inspection frequencies extracted from equipment strategies.
- Manage, organize and supervise specialized condition monitoring work performed by external contractors.
Identify and report equipment performance standards out of limits through usage of predictive maintenance techniques to support CBM work identification
- Identify equipment performance standards out of limits through the application of predictive maintenance techniques according to guidelines provided by equipment strategies.
- Shortlist and report defects to Reliability Engineer in order to support CBM work
Develop and maintain condition monitoring procedures and standards
- Develop procedures to standardize all condition monitoring processes and application of predictive maintenance techniques.
- Document all aspects relevant to application of predictive maintenance techniques such as: equipment inspected, calibrations, consumables, inventories, inspection worksheets, etc.
Monitor and improve condition monitoring data collection
- Investigate application of new PdM techniques and/or expand application of current PdM techniques.
- Monitor the performance and application of PdM techniques for condition monitoring.
- Identify opportunities to automate condition monitoring through the usage of new technology.
Contribute to the management of Health and Safety by;
- Identifies EH&S risks and exposures in the analysis and recommendation for change.
- Take every opportunity to minimize environmental impacts and to use resources as efficiently as possible to promote sustainable development.
- Contributing to the identification of the significant Health and safety risks of the equipment.
- Ensuring that incidents related to health, safety or the environment are reported and assist in investigations to identify any additional controls required.
- Attend regular safety meetings
Knowledge & Experience:
- Competency on predictive maintenance techniques, such as: oil analysis, vibration analysis, NDT, thermography, health monitoring, etc.
- Able to read and understand reference maintenance manuals.
- Must be computer literate i.e., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project.
- At least 4 years maintenance experience in the mining industry
- Proficiency with maintenance and reliability systems (ERP or CMMS, monitoring systems, MineCare, Dispatch and/or databases in general).
- Experience in mobile equipment and/or fixed plant facilities.
- Previous experience with RCM, FMEA, MTA or any other equipment strategy identification methodology.
- Experience with contamination control.
- Experience in development of equipment health reports.
Qualification:
- Tertiary and/or trade qualifications with accompanying certificates (mechanical, electrical, mining disciplines most desirable).
Behavioral Traits:
- Must have good record keeping skills and have demonstrated the ability to self- manage their workload.
- Have good communication skills in the English language with an emphasis on writing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and achieve required operational outputs. Must be self-driven.
- Ability to manage large volumes of data in a timely manner.
- Good organizer and efficient resource locator, skillfully handles formal procedures and informal processes with a high level of attention to detail.
