Description
This position is responsible for the management and implementation of EITA Programs and activities in EITAs operational districts under the SAP II Project. The position is also responsible for working with government line departments, (CSOs) and networks/alliances engaged in natural resources Governance. These responsibilities should be done in a manner that ensures the achievement of the objectives set out in the Alliance’s strategic Plan and adhering to its principles and approaches
Major Responsibilities
- Undertake implementation of the SAP II project activities in accordance with the organisation’s principles and approaches
- Contribute to the projects monitoring and evaluation work through utilisation of the projects M&E tools, Terms of Reference for studies, baselines and surveys
- Responsible for organizing and preparing of workshops, seminars, conferences and other public events in the operational districts under the SAP II Project.
- Building and maintaining strategic relationships with key CSO partners, and networks focused on natural resources governance in the projects targeted districts.
- Supporting the Monitoring and Evaluation personnel in the tracking of outcome of activities evidenced by accurate data to enhance quality of reporting
- Follow up on the implemented activities under the SAP II Project to ensure sustainability
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in a relevant field related to Environmental Studies that encompasses development studies, economics, social sciences, public administration, education or governance
- Project management experience in donor funded projects
- Hands on experience in report writing and able to manage a high workload and meet tight deadlines
- Has a passion and has a good knowledge of international development issues, trends and community approaches
- Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office
- A good understanding of civil society organizations and the field of participatory governance
- Fluent in English or any of the following languages (Bemba, Kaonde, Lunda, lubale)
- Should be based in either Mansa or Kalumbila districts
Skills and competencies
- Demonstrated ability to plan and organise activities at district and community level
- Proven ability to work creatively and independently both in the field and in the office
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Good computer skills, particularly in MS Office suite of products, including MS Project
- Well-organized, resourceful with good planning and problem-solving abilities
- Project management skills
- Flexible, quick-thinking and able to work well with commitment to the Alliance’s vision, mission, values and goals
